Iceland is often referred to as the "Land of fire and Ice" and after you have been on a tour of the south coast you will be calling it that too!
A day tour to the south coast will involve some of the most dramatic scenery that Iceland has to offer as you travel along a stunning coast line of black sand beaches. You will also catch glimpses of both volcano's & glaciers as you travel to popular destinations such as Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skogafoss waterfall, Solheimajokull glacier, Reynisfjara and Vik.
This is the area that they call "Iceland in miniature" or the "gateway to the westfjords". Located on the peninsula north of Reykjavik, Snæfellsnes is a wonderland of lavafields, mountains, glaciers and sleepy fishing villages.
The peninsula earns its "Iceland in miniature" nickname due to the massive diversity of nature that this area has to offer and while some may call her a "jack of all trades" there is certainly little she has not mastered. You will certainly fall in love with her black sand beaches and phenomenal landscape like we have.
For those willing to travel the distance, the glacier lagoon offers up some truly amazing sights that have to be seen to be believed.
Located on the east of Iceland, Jökulsárlón (the Glacier Lagoon) is a visual paradise where you can witness the slow breakdown of the Vatnajökull glacier as chunks of ice drift out into the North Atlantic sea. Along the way you will also have a chance to visit the fishing village of Vik and see the stunning visuals at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Its a scene not to be missed!
