    This tour was a Master Class on the geology, Viking history, and cultural norms of Iceland - guided by Daniel - a professor at the University of Iceland, in conjunction with driver, Lucas. Not a moment was wasted, the trip moved like clockwork, with intellegent informative narration throughout the day. I learned so much and was inspired by the connections Daniel made between the tectonic and volcanic forces producing the Iceland’s landscape, the curious relations of land formations to space explorations, the harnessing of geothermal power as a source of economic development, as well as historical accounts of Viking discovery and drama. This was truly worth Five Gold Stars for a Golden Circle day sojourn. Read more
