In short, there is no bad time of year to see whales from Akureyri, though your chances will be better at certain times of the year.
In summer, we take advantage of the plentiful daylight with many departures throughout the day. In summers 2016-2018, Elding in Akureyri boasted a 100% success rate on all tour departures.
In the dark winter months, we are limited to only 1 departure per day.
If you are unlucky and don´t have sightings, you are welcome back for a free make up tour either in Akureyri or from Reykjavík.
