Our Golden Circle day tour commences with a quick and efficient pickup process. Our driver-guide will pick you up from designated central Reykjavik locations or various stops across the city. After everyone is onboard, we’ll head to our first attraction of the day.

Kerið, a 3000-year-old volcanic crater on Iceland’s Golden Circle Route, boasts a captivating appearance with its well-defined conical shape, maroon volcanic rock, and dark sediment stripes. At its center lies a striking azure lake. You can explore Kerið through paved pathways, either walking along the rim for panoramic views or descending to the crater lake for a leisurely lakeside stroll. The crater’s perfect conical form is a result of the magma chamber collapsing after its eruption.

Next on the Golden Circle is the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest geothermal swimming pool. Recently renovated, it offers a serene contrast between its warm waters and the surrounding steam vents and panoramic landscapes.

The Geysir Geothermal Field highlights Iceland’s geothermal energy reliance, featuring sulfuric scents, bubbling mud pools, and the star attraction, Strokkur Geyser, erupting every 5 to 10 minutes. Nearby, the Great Geysir, now filled with blue water, provides a serene contrast.

A short drive takes you to Gullfoss, Iceland’s renowned waterfall, with a wide cascade plunging 11 and 21 meters. You can explore upper and lower walking paths for different perspectives, all sourced from Hvítá, the White River.

Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, holds cultural and geological significance as the founding site of Iceland’s parliament and a rift valley on the Eurasian-North American tectonic plate boundary. Öxaráfoss waterfall adds to its beauty, and Almannagjá guides you along the Viking’s path to the parliament site.

This full-day tour lets you explore the Golden Circle’s key attractions while enjoying Iceland’s Secret Lagoon, offering an unforgettable local experience.

Upon delving into Icelandic culture, gazing at nature’s wonders, and indulging in a traditional geothermal bath, we will conclude the day and make our way back to Reykjavik.

Your day starts with our efficient pickup service, covering approved locations across the capital area. For pickup details, contact our customer service. Once everyone’s aboard, we head east on Route 1, the Ring Road, following the coastline, which can be windy. Dress warmly. The stop order may vary depending on conditions. Keep an eye out for the Westman Islands to the south and Hekla Volcano to the northeast.

On the second day of your package, venture to Iceland´s wild and windy south coast. See the other-worldy landscape at Reynisfjara beach, with black sand framed by alien geometric cliffs faces. See some of the country´s most popular waterfalls including the instagram-worthy Seljalandsfoss waterfall with its famous winding walking path taking you behind the falling water.

After Seljalandsfoss waterfall, we head west to the capital region. Our bus will drop you off to the same location from which you were picked earlier in the day.

Your northern lights adventure commences with our efficient pickup service, available at designated hotels and tour bus stops across central Reykjavík. Simply specify your preferred pickup location when booking. Once all passengers have been gathered, we leave the city lights behind and venture into the dark expanse of the Icelandic countryside.

Our tour stands out because we don’t adhere to a fixed itinerary or route. Typically, we travel no more than 90 minutes from Reykjavík, focusing on finding areas with clear skies. Earlier in the day, our guides meticulously study aurora and cloud forecasts for the evening, giving us insights into the best locations for viewing the lights.

During the journey, your knowledgeable guide will entertain you with stories and insights about the northern lights and Iceland. Upon reaching our chosen location, where we anticipate a good chance of witnessing the aurora, you’ll have the opportunity to stretch your legs while awaiting the lights. Additionally, your guide can provide valuable advice on optimizing camera settings for capturing the aurora.

Waiting patiently is key when it comes to the northern lights, and you might find yourself in the cold for a while. However, our guide will provide you with complimentary hot chocolate and light refreshments to keep you comfortable.

While we hope to witness the lights at our initial location, we are prepared to move to a different spot if nature doesn’t cooperate. The BusTravel Iceland team is committed to making your aurora dreams a reality, and we’ll do everything within our power to achieve that.

While we make every effort to provide you with the best opportunity to witness the northern lights, these natural phenomena can be unpredictable. If you’re unfortunate and don’t have the chance to see the lights during your tour, don’t worry. You have the option to join another tour on a different night for free! Your guide will provide instructions on how to reschedule. This rebooking offer is valid for three years from the date of your initial tour departure. Please note that we cannot offer refunds for tours without northern lights sightings.

At the end of the night, we will return you to Reykjavík, dropping you off at the same location from which you were picked up.
