When you book with BusTravel Iceland, you are assured accommodation at a pleasant country hotel and/or guesthouse. Our partner hotels maintain a consistent standard, providing comfortable rooms with pre-made beds. The rooms feature either private or shared bathrooms, depending on your reservation. While the standard room is a twin, you can request a double or triple room at no additional cost. When triple rooms are not available as it’s not guaranteed at all hotels, you would get 1 Twin/Double room and 1 Single Room. Solo travelers may opt for a single room but will need to pay an additional fee. All our hotels offer free Wi-Fi, and amenities such as towels, a hairdryer, and a kettle. Furthermore, a complimentary hotel breakfast is included in your stay.
While a single room is an option for those desiring a private room, it is not mandatory. If you're a solo traveler and choose not to reserve a single room, you will be paired with another traveler of the same gender. If you choose to reserve your own private room, you are required to pay a Single Room Fee during the payment process. For reservations for two people, a double room will be assigned, and there is no need to pay a supplement fee unless an additional private room is desired. If the reservation is for three people, one triple room will be automatically assigned, but when triple rooms are not available as it’s not guaranteed at all hotels, you would get 1 Twin/Double room and 1 Single Room. No supplement fee needs to be paid unless an extra private room is requested. For reservations of four or more people, two double rooms will be assigned, and there is no need to pay a supplement fee unless another private room is desired.
In Iceland, it’s common for beds to feature separate mattresses and duvets, even for couples. Most hotels offer two separate beds that can be easily combined to form a larger bed, a standard practice throughout the country. The standard bed sizes in Iceland are typically 90 cm (35 in) wide by 200 cm (79 in) long for a single bed, and when two single beds are joined, they create a double bed with a width of 180 cm (71 in). In some cases, a single room may offer a double bed that measures 140 cm (55 in) wide by 200 cm (79 in) long.
During our multi-day tours, we cover an average distance of around 300 km (186 miles) per day. Expect to spend approximately 4-5 hours in the car daily. We make several stops for sightseeing, activities, bathroom breaks, and lunch, ensuring a balanced and enjoyable journey.
Many of the hotels we use during our multi-day tours are situated in remote locations that are far away from light pollution, making them ideal for Northern Lights sightings. If the weather conditions are favorable, there's a high likelihood of seeing the enchanting display of the dancing Northern Lights during your tour with us. Most hotels also provide a Northern Lights wake-up call upon request at the frontdesk when the lights are observed. Please keep in mind that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and we cannot guarantee their appearance, the best chances of seeing them occur between September and March when the skies are dark and clear.
We highly advise booking a multi-day tour with a start date at least one day after your arrival in Iceland. While it might be feasible to join the tour if arriving early, especially from the US or landing in the early morning (4-6:30 am), there are potential risks such as flight delays that could result in missing out on the tour.
