Seismic activity in recent years has greatly affected Kleifarvatn, leading to partial drainage and the emergence of a new hot spring in one corner. The lake’s folklore enhances the mysterious atmosphere of this breathtaking place.
2 Seltún Geothermal AreaWe’ll visit the Seltun geothermal area, a vibrant and dynamic landscape where you can witness the Earth’s geothermal power up close. At Seltun, you’ll see bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and colorful mineral deposits, all set against a backdrop of rugged terrain.
