Happy Hour is the BEST hour!

Happy Hour AKA… Happy days!

You are booked in. You´ve decided on the most northern capital city, the land of vikings, woolly socks, nature spots truly sublime & last but not least, pricey wine!

Well one thing they may not have told you is… that there is a happy hour for almost every hour in the day.  Sounds too good to be true, well it´s not. As a well experienced happy hour enthusiast, I can safely say after a jammed packed day tour, there is not anything finer than an ice cold one to soak in all you have seen. The best is it doesn’t matter if you are back from a Golden Circle tour at 17:00 or a Glacier Lagoon a little later fear not… there is a cozy spot ready to welcome you with open arms whilst still being gentle with your wallet.

Bar Ananas, Things to do in Reykjavik
Bar Ananas

ADDRESS: Klapparstígur 38

To me it will always look like Bar Bananas. Anyway, I love this little caribbean-y, reggae-y inspired bar. It´s wacky art, shack-type feel provides plenty of cozy corners for you to mold into. You will settle in juuuust fine here.

Happy Hour; 16:00-20:00. Everyday (oooOH yes)

Húrra, things to do in Iceland

ADDRESS: Tryggvagata 22

Hurra, Hurra, Hurra-Y! This trendy, ambient space is a real winner winner. With it´s exciting calendar bursting with local artist live performances this is one not to be missed. The Jazz Mondays from 21:00 take away those Monday blues in one soulful note and saxophone rift.

Happy Hour; 18:00- 21:00 (B-e-a-u-tiful!)

The Dubliner, Iceland tours
The Dubliner

ADDRESS: Hafnarstræti 1-3,

Ok, you guessed it. I mean, is a capital city really a capital city without an Irish bar? No, of course not so head over to the Dubliner for a tried ´n´tested guiness before 10pm for 700 ISK (tastes good already). It´s old wooden-tavern-like- interior matched with a darts board combined witha  flat screen for all your live footie needs you sure won´t miss a match. Home away from Home.

Happy Hour; 12:00-22:00

Kiki Queer Bar, Trips to Iceland
Kiki Queer Bar

ADDRESS: Laugavegur 22

Britney, Abba, Whitney? Get your dancing shoes on, whatever you are, whoever you are, whoever you are not- we know you know the words. Whether you are a die hard Kylie fan or she´s just a guilty pleasure after a few beers @ 700 ISK I´m not sure it will matter. OOOoooOh I wanna dance with somebody *everybody*.

Happy Hour- 21:00-01:00

Bryggjan Brugghús, Iceland short breaks
Bryggjan Brugghús

ADDRESS: Grandagarður 8

What if it´s not just the price but the story, the expertise and sheer talent behind those pints & better still, how it is brewed here in Iceland. Well, I am delighted to say we have that covered too. Ladies & Gents, I present you with Bryggjan. This place is a special one, a sophisticated, electric and suave Bistro & Brewery. At this little hot spot, one can experience a full guided tour of the brewery, sample the mighty fine craft beers and round it off with a tasting menu of Icelandic delicacies.

Tours running; Everyday (check site for availability)

All in all, whether you are looking for charming place for one, a proper ´out out´ night or a delicious cocktail you are split for choice. With the help of this little spiel & the app ´happy hour´ downloadable from the app store/android (check it out)- you never be thirsty!
