Perlan’s spectacles include a real ice cave (100-meter long) and an interactive glacier exhibition. There is also an immersive Forces of Nature show, 10-meter high Látrabjarg Cliff with lifelike seabirds and virtual reality entertainment, a virtual aquarium and more. Perlan, one of Reykjavík‘s most iconic buildings, stands upon the capital‘s highest hill. The 360° Viewing Deck is excellent, with picture panels and geological samples from around Reykjavík. Kerið Volcanic Crater is a unique site with its collapsed magma chamber now filled with milky turquoise waters. Walk around the edge of the crater and embrace the Icelandic landscape or walk down to the lake's shore and admire the vivid colours of this natural beauty.
Þingvellir National Park is not only a site of geological wonder, located on the intersection of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, but also a place charged with history, as the site of the national parliament since 930. Þingvellir tells stories of geographical and political struggles, compromises and ongoing evolution. Þingvellir was accepted on the UNESCO World Heritage list for its cultural values in 2004.
