Travelers from all over the world travel to Iceland in winter in the hope of catching the shimmering and colorful aurora. This illusive natural phenomenon can prove challenging even for the most accomplished photographers. Join our expert professional photographer guide on this intimate small-group jeep tour and learn the best methods to capture the aurora display whether using your phone camera or more advanced DSLR cameras.
Your guide will take you off the beaten track to find clear skies to give you the best chance to take that perfect shop. Join us on this exclusive tour photographing the northern lights.
Your northern lights photography tour begins with our pickup service, with many approved pickup points dotted around the capital region. Our comfortable super-jeep caters exclusively to small groups, so pickup will take no time at all, ensuring that most of the tour duration is spent on the main event: hunting the aurora.
We check the Icelandic Met Office forecast daily for both the KP index on atmospheric activity, as well as cloud cover. Only when these elements align do we actually go on tour. We will let you know the day of if your tour is on or off.
Once we leave the city light pollution far behind, our super-jeep allows us to take you to locations where the large bus tours do not. If clear skies are to be found, we can reach them in this impressive all-terrain vehicle.
Once we find a promising location, your expert photo-guide will advise you on camera settings, shutter speeds and more. The small-group size allows the guide to spend time with each participant ensuring a more rewarding and intimate experience.
They will also use their own gear to take photos of you with the aurora borealis. We will email you these photos after the tour.
As the tour ends, we hope to leave you with great memories, expanded knowledge and photographs to be proud of.
