Experience the dramatic contrasts of Iceland’s south coast, where landscapes change rapidly across waterfalls, glaciers and black sand beaches.

Travel along the scenic Ring Road and explore one of Iceland’s most varied regions on a small-group tour, offering a more personal and immersive experience.

What will you see on the South Coast tour in Iceland?

The route features a wide range of natural highlights shaped by volcanic and glacial forces.

  • Seljalandsfoss waterfall
  • Skógafoss waterfall (60 meters / 197 feet)
  • Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
  • Reynisdrangar sea stacks
  • Sólheimajökull glacier
  • Vík í Mýrdal village

Feel the mist of Skógafoss Waterfall as it thunders down from towering cliffs reaching 60 meters (197 feet), then explore the village of Vík í Mýrdal, set against dramatic volcanic landscapes.

Walk along Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, where powerful Atlantic waves crash against basalt columns, and witness the icy landscape of Sólheimajökull Glacier, shaped by ice and ash.

Complete your experience at Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the cascading water for a unique perspective.

You can also explore our South Coast day tour for a similar experience.

Why choose a small group South Coast tour?

Our small group tours are operated on modern minibuses, allowing for a more relaxed pace and closer interaction with your guide.

The smaller group size gives you more one-on-one time, creating a more personal way to experience Iceland’s natural highlights.

This classic day trip from Reykjavík combines iconic sights with a more intimate and immersive travel experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your safety is always our top priority. To ensure the best and safest experience possible, BusTravel Iceland may adjust the itinerary or take alternative routes if weather, road, or other conditions require it. Our experienced guides will always make these decisions with your comfort and safety in mind, striving to provide you with an enjoyable adventure no matter the circumstances.
We recommend dressing warmly and in layers, as the weather in Iceland can change quickly. A windproof and waterproof jacket is essential, along with a warm sweater, fleece, and thermal base layer. Wear warm, waterproof, and breathable trousers, sturdy water-resistant boots, and woolen socks to stay comfortable throughout the tour. Don’t forget a cozy hat, scarf, and waterproof gloves to protect against the cold. During winter, we also advise bringing crampons or spikes, as these are areas that can’t be salted to preserve the environment, so grip and stability are especially important.
Pickup starts at the experience time shown on your ticket and may take up to 30 minutes. Please be ready at your designated pickup location from the start time, as you may be the first stop of the day. Please wait at the pickup location you selected during the booking process for your guide, and make sure we have your correct email and phone number so we can contact you if needed. Feel free to check our Reykjavík pickup locations on the website.
Travel times vary depending on the tour, but stops are made at least every 1.5–2 hours for stretching and restroom breaks. All full-day tours also include a scheduled lunch stop at a local restaurant.
