Joining the two-day South Coast tour with BusTravel was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Every stop along the way was like stepping into a dream — the landscapes were so breathtaking that I often found myself speechless. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed, allowing us to truly experience the beauty of Iceland without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere throughout the tour was warm and joyful, and it made these two days even more unforgettable.
I’m especially grateful to our guide, Omar — the most outstanding guide I’ve ever met. His deep knowledge, steady driving, and wonderful sense of humour made every moment on the road as memorable as the sights themselves. I feel incredibly fortunate that on my 30th birthday, I was able to witness such awe-inspiring scenery and share the experience with a group of genuinely kind and lovely people.

We took the tour on Good Friday. Lucas the driver and David (think his name was) were both excellent. We stopped at one place, still a bit too light but gave us chance to get our cameras ready and start adjusting our eyes. We then continued to another location not far away where they have a little house, which we could keep warm. They also had toilets and unlimited hot chocolate available which were very appreciated. About 10/15 minutes of arriving we had literally just got our hot chocolate and the guide from the other bus shouted the northern lights are coming through, we all rushed out. We were given about 45 minutes to take pictures etc…. During this time we still had access to the indoor facilities. Brilliant night, lots of information from David along the way to the 2 locations.
Great evening, Easter night! Although it was pretty cloudy, our guide, Garry and the driver, Lucas, took us to a place where there were clear sky. After a short time, around 11 p.m. first lights appeared, flollowed by others more powerful. It was our Last night in Reykjavík and we were so happy we could see the Northern lights. Thanks, Garry!
Amazing tour. It was cold grey and raining most of our tour. BUT our guide Halli made every stop a wonder with his knowledge of the area. We enjoyed all of the stories he shared and told so vividly. Thanks!
This tour completely exceeded my expectations – I was deeply touched several times along the way. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking and incredibly diverse. From dramatic coastlines to peaceful mountains, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula truly offers a little bit of everything. I felt like I got to see a rich slice of Iceland’s natural beauty, all in one day. What made the trip even more special was the small group – it felt personal, friendly, and never rushed. We were also incredibly lucky with the weather, which gave us the chance to fully enjoy every stop. A huge thank you to Alain, our amazing guide, who brought the entire day to life with his warmth, humor, and fascinating stories. He shared so many details that made each place feel meaningful and memorable – and as a cherry on top, he even sang for us at the end of the tour. A truly heartwarming moment! I can’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re considering exploring this part of Iceland, do it – and if you get Alain as your guide, you’re in for something really special.
