Alain

For Alain, Iceland’s spectacular landscapes and unique culture are best experienced with the right introduction – and he’s made it his mission to provide just that. Driven by a love for sharing knowledge and sparking curiosity, he delights in helping travelers see the country with fresh eyes.
Alain’s guiding style blends storytelling, cultural insight, and a touch of humor, whether he’s decoding the wildness of the land, tracing the history behind the language, or revealing the versatility of its people. He admits he’s still perfecting the art of “reading” the landscape, but his enthusiasm is contagious.
Outside of guiding, Alain enjoys calligraphy and singing – skills that mirror the same artistry and rhythm he brings to every journey. For him, guiding isn’t just a job – it’s the joy of seeing the country he loves, while inspiring others to love it too.

Beggi

Born and raised in Iceland, Beggi’s lineage traces back to Ingólfur Arnarson, the island’s very first settler. He comes from a long line of farmers, fishermen, poets, and politicians… so perhaps becoming a bus-driving storyteller was inevitable.
Before guiding, Beggi spent 15 years with UNICEF Iceland, working as an Education Officer, Head of Advocacy, and later as Executive Director. Those years taught him how to connect with people from all walks of life – a skill he now uses to bring Iceland’s landscapes, history, and folklore to life.
A few years ago, he felt the irresistible call of his land. He traded office walls for open roads, learned to drive a bus, and now spends his days sharing stories, local secrets, and nature’s wonders. Whether chasing waterfalls or tracing Viking footsteps, Beggi promises a journey that’s as much about connection as it is about the view. Along the way, he sprinkles in folklore, history, and just enough dry humor to keep things interesting.

Bryndis

Bryndis’ path to guiding began when she took a group of international volunteers on a tour of Iceland. Seeing their joy as they discovered her homeland made her realize how much she loved sharing its beauty—and she’s been doing it ever since.
Raised in a small fishing village in the east, she grew up learning how to live with nature: to use it wisely, respect it deeply, and understand its dangers. That early lesson shaped her love for Iceland and the way she guides today.
What Bryndis loves most is the connection—seeing travelers leave her bus smiling, meeting people from all over the world, and showing them the beauty of her country in all its moods. To her, Iceland is magical and mystical: one moment wild and harsh, the next welcoming and full of warmth. The ever-changing weather, dramatic landscapes, and deep history keep every journey unique.

Hannes

Hannes’ journey as a guide began unexpectedly on August 10th, 2021, when a friend urgently needed someone for a couple of tours. Hesitant at first, he took the challenge — and hasn’t looked back since. Today, he delights in sharing Iceland’s stunning landscapes, volcanoes, waterfalls, and auroras with travelers from around the world.
What he loves most is being outdoors year-round, exploring every corner of his country, and connecting with people while sharing his passion for Iceland. His favorite experiences include the Westfjords, chasing the Northern Lights, and enjoying classic Icelandic lamb.
When he’s not guiding, Hannes enjoys walking his dog, spending time with family, and going fishing or hunting. With a background in business and years of office work, he now thrives on adventure and helping guests experience the very best of Iceland, embracing the local spirit of Þetta reddast — everything works out.

Thor

Þórhallur, who prefers to be called Thor, is a stand-up comedian and one of the funniest guides at BusTravel Iceland. He has a dog named Tindur and doesn’t particularly appreciate the constant wind in his homeland.
Thor, an avid outdoorsman, is dedicated to sharing Iceland’s enchanting natural wonders, from its diverse waterfalls to the mesmerizing Northern Lights and unique wildlife.
He thrives on guiding passengers through the heart of the action, ensuring they experience these remarkable landmarks. Pursuing his passion is his unwavering mission, as he believes Icelandic nature never fails to bring joy to visitors.

Tony

Tony loves being out in nature, and guiding in Iceland is the perfect complement to his background in pilot school. Every day brings a new experience, from storytelling to capturing the ever-changing landscapes in different seasons and lighting conditions. He thrives on Iceland’s dynamic weather, knowing that even stormy or turbulent days often produce the best photographic moments.
Tony’s favorite parts of Iceland include its vivid colors, fresh landscapes, geothermal pools, and fresh local food. Outside of guiding, he enjoys flying, mountain biking, photography, and snowboarding. With a professional background in web management and photography at Icelandair, Tony brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every tour, creating unforgettable memories — from equinox aurora nights to stormy days at Djúpalónssandur.

Odysseas

Before his adventure as a tour guide, Odysseas roamed through the fields of photography and outdoor adventures. His strong curiosity for culture, people, and history fueled his journey into the heart of Iceland, where the land itself is a canvas of breathtaking textures, ever-changing shapes, and an artist’s palette of colors.
Odysseas is fascinated by the fact that, with each tour, nature weaves a new tale as weather whimsically transforms the landscape in Iceland. He is drawn to the allure of geothermal baths, the enchanting Northern Lights, and the captivating winter scenes along Iceland’s South coast.
Outside of guiding, Odysseas finds comfort in writing poetry, capturing fleeting moments with his camera, and cherishing time with loved ones. He wisely advises,

Ómar

If you ask Omar what makes Iceland special, he’ll tell you it’s a place where the land can change its face in a single day — and where every story is woven with history, resilience, and a dash of Icelandic humor.
With decades of experience in music, engineering, and storytelling, Oamr brings a rich and varied background to every tour. He first guided Northern Lights excursions during his university years, but when Iceland reopened after the pandemic, he embraced guiding full-time — turning his deep love for the island into a profession.
Guests quickly discover his passion for exceeding expectations, whether it’s watching the aurora dance, tasting glacier water at a waterfall, or uncovering the secrets of Iceland’s geology and folklore. He admires the resilience of his ancestors, the ever-changing beauty of the land, and the generosity at the heart of Icelandic culture — all tied together by the local spirit of Þetta reddast (“it will all work out”).
With Omar, every journey is a blend of breathtaking scenery, history, humor, and genuine Icelandic warmth.
Every journey is a chance to connect with the land, its people, and their stories — and to leave travelers saying,
