Start your day at the Perlan Glacier & Ice Cave exhibition and go afterwards on a Golden Circle Afternoon Tour with BusTravel Iceland.
Perlan brings Wonders of Iceland alive in a unique exhibition, through ground-breaking technology, science, photography and design. You can see, feel and experience the forces of nature, volcanoes, glaciers, Icelandic ocean, seabirds and so much more - all in one place. Visit Perlan for adventures to live and stories to tell. The exhibition starts with a walk through one of the first man-made ice cave of its kind in the world (more than 100 meters long). The ice cave leads to a dramatic multimedia exhibit providing more details about Iceland’s treasured glaciers, the future of glaciers and the effects of global warming. A perfect first stop on the trip to Iceland that is suitable for all ages.
On the Golden Circle Afternoon Tour will you visit the most renowned natural pearls of the Southwest of Iceland in a single afternoon. In the Geysir geothermal area we get the chance to observe the boiling hot spring Strokkur spout steaming water up to 30 meters into the air every 8 minutes.
The iconic waterfall of Gullfoss, or Golden Falls, is only a 7 minute drive from Geysir – located in the glacial river Hvítá. Its elegant and majestic form is like no other, where the torrential river water plummets in two steps down into a 32 meters deep canyon.
Kerið Volcanic Crater is a unique site with its collapsed magma chamber now filled with milky turquoise waters. Walk around the edge of the crater and embrace the Icelandic landscape or walk down to the lake's shore and admire the vivid colors of this natural beauty.
Þingvellir National Park is not only a site of geological wonder, located on the intersection of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, but also a place charged with history, as the site of the national parliament since 930. Þingvellir tells stories of geographical and political struggles, compromises and ongoing evolution. Þingvellir was accepted on the UNESCO World Heritage list for its cultural values in 2004.
